I support every bit of it, but would like to add 2 small points.
1. If it goes ahead, it will provide yet another road feeding into the Well St/Kenworthy Rd junction. This is not only already horrid to negotiate as a picnicking family headed for Viccie Park, but will make the East Cross slip road even more dangerous for cyclists & pedestrians headed for the Wick.
2. This is all to feed into & out of Morning Lane. With the new 'fashion hub' scheme under way on such a narrow road, the increased flow & concentration of motor vehicles will put many more cycling families off getting to Hackney centre.
Hackney Cyclist - thank you for putting this all together. As you say. Hackney Council has a dismal record on consulting the very people who pay it Council Tax. Here's hoping your hard work pays off.
@hackneywickAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3410982774062066015.post-76852725841435107392015-07-08T14:22:39.184+01:002015-07-08T14:22:39.184+01:00I enjoyed reading this well-presented, well-resear...I enjoyed reading this well-presented, well-researched report. The local LCC branch is notoriously run by a clique of elderly men who enjoy cycling among lorries and think anyone who doesn't like this has a problem which needs to be solved by cycle training. As for the Labour Party, it has no understanding whatever of cycling and thinks the best way of travelling around cities is by car and bus, not by walking or cycling. As for Hackney's councillor Vincent Stops. He is a total disaster and a massive obstacle to the development of cycling in Hackney. He is the catastrophe of the CTC personified in a locally powerful individual. Cycling in Hackney is going absolutely nowhere.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
